Paranormal investigator ch 2

       "And here are your the keys to your dorm, the map of the campus, the student handbook, and your schedule. Don't lose that key because you'll need it all year and we don't change the rooms you are placed in. Class starts at 8:10 in the morning. Don't be late"
       "Yes sir" we say in unison as we take up the items and make our way to the dormitory. As we we're walking we noticed a few looks our way but overall it seems like they don't care and returned to their conversations.
'Well at least we know now that are looks are fine' I thought to myself as Alexa leans closer to me.
       "Do you see anything strange yet?" she asks softly so only I can hear. I shake my head.
       "No, not yet at least." I say as we walk into the building and I turn to the right as Alexa stops.
       "What are you doing?"
       "What are you talking about? I'm heading to our room"
       "but our room is to the left"
       "No, rooms one to fifteen are to the left and rooms sixteen to thirty are to the right"
       "Exactly so we're on the left" she says as she holds out the key that has the number five on it. I stare at her key for a moment before pulling out mine to check the number again to find it still says twenty-two.
       "Oh crap... Roy screwed up big time!" I said starting to panic a little.
       "Don't worry, just think of this as a minor set back. I'm sure we can handle this" she said with a small smile. I smile back.
       "Yeah your'e right, Alexa"
       "who's Alexa? My name is Alex remember" I couldn't help but grin.
       "Right. Right. Well I'll see ya at dinner Alex"
       "See ya Andrew" she said as she turns to the left toward her room and I head toward mine.
       'She's right theres nothing to worry about" I thought as I unlocked the door and took a step into the room, smiling to myself. 'I can totally handle this, no problem' I then stopped as I noticed a person standing in the middle of the room. I instantly felt my face heat up as I looked the guy over. His back was turned toward me and he only wearing running shorts as he was digging through a drawer. 'Oh my God he's hot' He then turned toward me, finally taking notice of my presence.
"Oh Hey, you must be the new guy" he said as he slipped on a white t-shirt.
"H-hi I'm Andrew"
       "I'm Alex"
       'So that must be how Roy screwed up. They're both named Alex' I thought to myself as I stepped in more into the room,out of the doorway and closed the door behind me.
"So Andrew where are you from? Around here?" He asks as he flops on the bottom bunk.
       "Greenberg, not too far from here" I say as I begin unpacking some of my things and placing it in the drawers.
       "But I notice you have somewhat of an accent that I've never heard around here"
       "That's because my family is not from here or this country"
       "Got a last name?"
       "Langelo"
"Ah, any family come with you here?"
       "no"
"I see, and why are you joining our school in the middle of spring?"
       "Because I want an education.Why are you asking so many questions?" I say as I turn back to him.
       "I'm just trying to learn a little more about you, that's all shrimp"
       "shrimp?"
       "Thats your new name"
       "Why shrimp?"
       "Well look at you" he says as he gets up in front of me, easily a foot taller than me. "Your'e a shrimp" He says with a grin as he looks down to me. I'm just about to give him the greatest comeback ever when a bell rings.
       "What's that?"
       "It's the dinner bell"
       "Oh" I say as I quickly pack the rest of my things in the rest of my things and grab my campus map before heading to the door. "Aren't you coming as well?" I ask as I look back to him.
       "Nah, I got practice to get to" he says as he puts on his sneakers and throws his sports bag over his shoulder. He walks past me out the room.
       "Lock the door. I'll see ya later shrimp" I just roll my eyes and lock the door before leaving the dormitory. I flip out my phone as I'm walking and send a text to Roy with a few threats and choice words.
       'I'll never let him hear the end of this' I thought, not paying attention to where I was going and accidentally running into someone.
       "Sorry! I wasn't paying attention" the guy stays silent for a moment before answering.
       "Oh it's fine. Don't worry about it. Say I haven't seen you around here before are you new?"
       "Oh yeah, I am"
       "Well are you trying to get somewhere?"
       "To the dinning hall actually"
       "Oh well if you keep going straight and then take a left at the fountain you'll see it right next to the library"
       "Cool, thanks" I say glad I won't have to depend on my sense of direction and the cruddy map.
       "No problem, by the way I'm Michael"
       "I'm Andrew. Well I have to go and meet someone, maybe I'll see you in class" I say as I begin to walk off.
       "Maybe" he says as he walks off in the opposite direction smiling.
       'He was nice' I think with a small smile on my face. 'I can only hope other students will be like him'

        "What took you so long?" Alexa asks as we sat down at a table some distance away from the rest.
       "Sorry sorry, first I had to deal with my new roommate, then I had to notify Roy on what an idiot he is, and then I had some trouble finding this place. You have to admit this campus is huge!" She could only sigh.
       "Well just hurry up next time, I already outlined the places that are reported to have the most activity" she says as she places her campus map on the table in between our food trays. An "x" was placed anywhere there were small issues like things moving by themselves, shadowy figures, voices, etc. and there was a circle around places with more than one reports surrounding it.
       "So we need to definitely check the art room, the gymnasium, and the auditorium?" I say between bites of my food.
       "Yeah, I thing this is a bigger mission then we thought and most of the reports on these activities look the same so I don't think this is some kind of joke like some of the things called in." I nod as I continue to sip my drink.
       "So what should we do first? I ask
       "I'm thinking we should split up the area in half and investigate on our own before coming together and figuring out what are next move is. Also since I've been part of the organization a little longer than you I'll take over the right side of the campus with the art room and the auditorium."
       "So I'm stuck with the left side and the gymnasium is my only real concern?"
       "Yes" she says as she starts to get up folding her map and placing it in her pocket. "If you need any help with anything you know how to reach me"
       "Yeah yeah, I know"
       "And remember we'll meet up here tomorrow night at the same time"
       "Geez, I've been doing this for three years now. I think I know what I'm doing." She sighs.
       "Just be careful. This could be your last night if you're not..." She says before walking off toward the dormitory. I just roll my eyes.
       "I'm not a kid... I know what do to" I think as I toss my drink in the trash and heading to my room.

       I make it back to the room and notice that Alex isn't back yet so I quickly get changed into some shorts and a t shirt, throwing my dirty clothes in a pile near my bag in the corner of the room and crawl up to the top bunk before falling asleep almost instantly. It wasn't until later that night around 12 that I was woken up by the sound of whispering. I look over the edge of my bed to see Alex,who must've gotten in earlier while I was asleep.
       "Alex" I say softly wondering if he's still asleep. "Alex are you awake?"
       "What do you want shrimp?" He says with his eyes still closed.
       "What's that sound?"
       "The whispering?"
       "Yeah..."
       "Just the school ghost" I pause and pale a little as he opens an eye looking up to me. "I'm just kidding, it's probably the air vents or something. It happens every night. You get use to it."
       "Oh" I say as I lay back down on the bed.
       "Just stop thinking about it and go to sleep. Trust me you're fine" I just nod and lay back down. "You don't believe in that ghost stuff do you?" He asks softly.
       "No...of course not" I say sweating nervously. I try my best to fall asleep but can't help but listening to the whispers only being able to make out a few words.

       "There, that should be good enough" Alexa said softly to herself as she finished adjusting the last of the cameras in the art room. She looked at her watch to see it was12:09am.
       'Good enough time as any to go to bed' she thought as she began packing up her materials hoping her roommate was still asleep like he was when she left. She starts to get the feeling she's forgetting something but brushes the idea off as she races out of the art room and back to the dormitory not wanting to get caught outside past curfew on the first day. A small tool made by the organization is picked up by a figure.
        "Oh my" the person says with a grin. "Looks like there's more to the new student than I thought"
